Quartz countertops are one of the most popular types of countertops and are 93% quartz and 7% resin. They are extremely easy to take care of and are twice as strong as granite — quartz does not develop fissures or cracks. If you certain colors, quartz is a good choice since they have much more color options than natural stone does. When combined with different colors, the quartz surface has a smooth look and matte texture throughout without any variations. The seams nearly disappear into the surface when bonding adhesive is used to give a smooth appearance.
You won’t have to worry about it chipping or retaining scratches. Quartz as a stone is even harder and heavier than granite, and is arguably the most durable stone for kitchen counter tops. Also, a quartz countertop resists heat; you can put a hot plate on it, and when you take it away, the countertop won’t be hot. Or you can use pads or trivets with hot pots & use a cutting board. You should never slice or chop food directly on the countertops. Due to special type of resins mixed within the quartz during production, quartz countertops are resistant to stains. They are a nonporous surface, which means staining substances do not settle in small pores, causing discoloration.
